The 2017 SsangYong Rexton, ahead of its world premier at the upcoming Seoul Motor Show, has now been revealed in detailed images. Based on the SsangYong Liv-2 concept, the latest iteration of the Rexton will be sold under the Mahindra badge in India with slightly modified exterior front.
Based on a ladder frame chassis, the 2017 Rexton takes quite a lot of its design specifics from the LIV-2 concept. It comes with a dominating front-facia, bold character lines, a high riding body and swelled wheel arches which provide it with a contemporary profile.
Coming to the interiors, the same is to get a dual-tone upholstery and dashboard. There will be several silver highlights which provide it with a premium feel. There will be a multi-functional steering wheel, a touchscreen infotainment system, leather upholstery, automatic climate control among the others. Talking about the engine specifications, the same is to feature a 2.2-litre diesel mil while there will also be a 2.0-litre petrol engine also on offer. The former is good for 184Bhp and 420Nm of peak torque while the latter is to offer 225Bhp of power. Both manual as well as automatic transmission options will be on offer. As far as the prices are concerned, the 2017 SsangYong Rexton is to fall in the range of INR 25 to 30 lakh (ex-showroom). The same is expected to make its global production debut in the year 2017 and is expected to launch in India sometime during the year 2018.
