Maruti Suzuki, India’s biggest automobile manufacturer yesterday launched the next-generation of its popular compact sedan, the Dzire in the Indian car market. The 2017 Dzire is a completely new product from the ground up and comes with a host of features which makes it quite a premium vehicle from its previous generation. It seems that the latest iteration of the Dzire will continue to reach the same heights as set by the old Dzire as already, the automaker has received over 33,000 bookings of this compact sedan.
The deliveries of the 2017 Dzire has already commenced, with new buyers have to incurring a waiting period of up to 8 weeks, depending upon the variant you choose. The 2017 Maruti Suzuki Dzire is being offered in a total of eight variants, with four of each petrol and diesel. Buyers can choose from a total of 8 different colour options.
The 2017 Dzire is to be retailed through regular Maruti dealerships and not the premium NEXA chain. With this new iteration, apart from the exterior design elements and the feature updates, the Dzire comes with the same set of engine as did the older model. The petrol derivative is to be taken care of by a 1.2-litre VVT K-Series engine churning out 82Bhp of power along with 114Nm of peak torque. The diesel engine however is taken care of by a 1.3-litre DDiS unit capable of producing 73Bhp along with 190Nm of peak torque. The transmission responsibilities are taken care of by a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. Now, with the 2017 iteration, Maruti Suzuki has provided the Dzire with its AGS (AMT) gearbox, which for the first time comes in both petrol as well as diesel version.
Talking about the prices, the 2017 Maruti Suzuki Dzire’s base petrol version is to retail at INR 5.45 lakh and go up to INR 8.41 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
