In order to take on the likes of the existing vehicles in the compact sedan segment in India, Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the next-gen Dzire in the Indian car marker tomorrow. The 2017 Maruti Suzuki Dzire is a completely new vehicle and comes based on the automaker’s HEARTECH platform which not only promises to be light weight but offers increased levels of structural rigidity as well. Maruti dealerships have already started taking the bookings of the 2017 Dzire at a token amount of INR 11,000 with waiting periods currently standing at close to 6 to 8 weeks.
Talking about the compact sedan’s exterior profile, the 2017 Dzire comes with a much more aggressive facia with large up-swept headlamps, a polygonal grill and edgy bumper. The side profile of this car is rather curvaceous and does takes its inspiration from the Baleno. Towards the rear, the design has been kept quite simple and seems to be an involved form of the one seen on the previous gen model.
The cabin of the 2017 Maruti Suzuki Dzire is to be a complete revamp of what we have seen on the current gen model. The layout is a lot more premium and one is to get a dual tone paint scheme of black and beige. Designers have included burl wood accents on the dashboard and on the steering wheel to provide the cabin with a sense of richness. In terms of features, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire 2017 is going to a quite abundant. Some of the highlights are going to be a multi-functional steering, automatic climate control, touchscreen infotainment system, electrically adjustable ORVMs, day and night IRVM, rear air-con vents, height adjustable driver’ seat to name a few. Not only is the Dzire to be feature rich, but also is going to score quite high in terms of its safety features. Talking about the engine specifications, the 2017 Dzire is to get a 1.2-litre K-Series VVT petrol engine churning out 82Bhp along with 114nm of peak torque. Alongside this, there will also be a 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine, producing 73Bhp along with 190Nm of peak torque. The transmission responsibilities are to be taken care of by a 5-speed manual gearbox. While there will also be a 5-speed AMT on offer.
Talking about the prices, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire 2017 is expected to fall in the price range of INR 5.5 lakh to INR 7.5 lakh.
