We informed you earlier that Maruti Suzuki is currently working on debuting the next-iteration of its flagship product, the S-Cross in the India. Already unveiled in the European markets, the 2017 S-Cross, now according to a report published in Autocar India, will be arriving to the Indian shores by Diwali this year. The new-age S-Cross will feature design and feature updates which are to be inline with the one seen on the international spec model.
Talking about these, the front profile of the 2017 S-Cross is to feature and all new chrome grille, which adorn a multi-slat layout. The headlamps are to be restyled as well and are now to come with a new and bolder detailing. The lamp are to be projector rather than conventional halogen and are to be highlighted by LED DRL strips. The front bumper too is going to be modded with it being getting a tab more edgier at the bottom.
The side profile of the 2017 Maruti S-Cross is going to be similar to the current gen model. Other changes are to be observed towards the back where the car is to get new LED tail-lamps.
The cabin of the 2017 S-Cross is to remain exactly as same as before, the only major change is to be the addition of a new touchscreen infotainment system which is to come compatible with Android Auto and Apple Car Play. The rest of the features, like a multi-functional steering wheel, automatic climate control, leather upholstery among the others.
The engine options are to include a 1.6-litre DDiS diesel engine capable of churning out 118Bhp along with 320Nm of peak torque. The other one nis to be a 1.3-litre DDiS engine producing 89Bhp along with 200Nm of peak torque. The transmission responsibilities are to be taken care of by a 5-speed manual gearbox, while there is also to be a 6-speed automatic unit on offer.
Talking about the prices, the 2017 Maruti S-Cross is expected to be slotted in the bracket of INR 8.5 to 12 lakh (ex-showroom).
