The Elite i20 has been a consistent performer for the Korean car manufacturer in India but due to the entry of newer competitors is going to get a mid-life update and will be unveiled to us possibly at 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. A test mule was also spotted recently which point towards the fact that Hyundai has started testing the i20 facelift. Here are some changes that can be expected in the new upcoming model.
2018 Hyundai Elite i20 Facelift Exteriors
The new i20 facelift is likely to be sporting a front fascia which is similar to the recently launched 2017 Xcent. The front end will comprise of cascading grille, much sleeker looking headlights inspired from the Elantra and tweaks to the new bumper which has new fog lamp inserts. The side profile is still unseen but will feature a new alloy wheels design whereas the rear end is expected to feature radical changes.
2018 Hyundai Elite i20 Facelift Interiors
The interiors of the Elite i20 are already very likeable and come with loads of features wrapped in a stylish and comfortable packaging. But the new i20 Active might come with a new colour cabin colour scheme, the touchscreen infotainment screen at the centre console will be a 7 inch unit with various connectivity options. Other changes could be in the MID instrument cluster.
2018 Hyundai Elite i20 Facelift Engine Specifications
The engine on the Elite i20 will be the same set of 1.2 litre petrol (Manual) and 1.4 litre diesel (Manual) and 1.4 litre petrol (Automatic) units. But the bunny out of the hat could be the 1.0 litre petrol engine which does duties on the European i10 model. This unit will be a 3.0 cylinder, Kappa mill with direct injection and a turbocharger which puts out 120 bhp of power with 172 Nm of torque.
On the other hand, Hyundai is also working on a mild hybrid system which could be implemented in several of their cars like the upcoming all new Verna, Creta and the i20 as well.
