General Motors has subsided the rumours that they are ceasing operations in India although not on their own. The information has been leaked through a letter to all the Chevrolet retail partners informing them of the nearing launch of the new 2017 Chevrolet Beat which is set to launch in the third week of July.
The new 2017 Chevrolet Beat will be inspiring a fresh fascia with large upswept headlamps and the overall design looks inspired from the Chevrolet Spark. Apart from that, the other bits of design look same as the earlier version of the hatchback.
The interiors will boast of a two-tone colour design with matte silver in its center console which houses the Chevrolet Mylink2 infotainment touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay now, chrome surrounds to the HVAC control, a MID which comprises of dials and central information display.
The engine department will be handled by the current set of engines which comprise of the 1.2 litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine which churns out 79 bhp @ 6200 rpm and max torque of 108 Nm @ 4400 rpm. The 1.0 litre 3-cylinder diesel engine on the other hand which was one of the most fuel efficient engine during the time of its introduction develops 57 bhp @ 4000 rpm and peak torque of 150 Nm @ 1750 rpm. The transmission duties are handled with 5-speed manual gearbox.
The coming model will share the same M300 platform of the previous model and will not be sporting any radical changes. Expect the pricing of the base variant in the range of INR 3.95 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Thus this will be competing against the likes of Honda Brio, Hyundai Grand i10, Tata Tiago and Maruti Celerio.
