BMW, the German automaker has today revealed the latest iterations of the 1 Series and the 2 Series globally. In the India, we already have on sale the 5-door version of the 1 Series and it is expected that the updated version will arrive in the country sometime this year itself. Globally, these new iterations of the 1 series and the 2 series will make their official debut in the month of July this year.
Talking about the changes done, the 2017 BMW 1 Series gets revised LED headlamps along with new darkened LED tail-lamps, two new paint scheme of Sunset Orange and Seaside Blue. Alongside these, there will also be new 5 different alloy wheels to choose from available in 17 to 18-inch configurations. Inside the cabin, the 2017 BMW 1 Series comes with an all new instrument cluster with new and refreshed leather upholstery. Also, BMW has introduced three variants which are namely M Sport Shadow, Sportline Shadow and M140i Edition Shadow.
Now to the BMW 2 Series, this too gets several design tweaks. It comes with bi-Xenon headlamps, larger kidney grills giving the car a wider look than the models which it replaces.Just like the 1 Series, the 2 Series too gets a revised instrument cluster with the introduction of a new 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
In addition to the cosmetic updates, the 1 Series and the 2 Series will be available to choose with a wide array of three, four and six cylinder engines. In India however, the number of powertrain options would be limited. The transmission responsibilities will be taken care of by a 6-speed manual gearbox while there will also be an eight speed automatic on offer.
