Toyota has finally launched the fourth generation, 2016 model of its most popular Hybrid vehicle, the Prius in India at a price of INR 38.96 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The same is powered by a 1.8-litre hybrid petrol engine which individually produces 97Bhp with the electric motor adding 71Bhp to the total. The transmission responsibilities are handled by a CVT automatic gearbox and the combination promises and ARAI certified fuel efficiency figure of 26.27km/l.
The fourth generation 2016 Toyota Prius comes a multitude of creature comforts and features. These are to include LED headlamps, LED fog-lamps, LED DRLs, 15-inch alloy wheels, body coloured outside door handles, smart entry with engine push start system, leather seats, eco driving indicator, touchscreen multimedia system with 10 LBL speakers, follow me home headlamps, seat heaters for driver and passenger, heads up display, wireless charger, Dual Auto AC and much more. Just like the other recent breed of Toyota vehicles, the Prius too will score high in terms of its safety features on board. it comes with 7-airbags, seat belt warning, ABS with Brake Assist, EBD, Vehicle stability control and Traction control; Engine immobilizer along with Rear Seat child restraint system and ISOFIX. The 2016 Prius is based on the Japanese automaker’s TGNA platform which provides the car with a low stance design, providing the car with a low centre of gravity, better suspension, stability and handling.
