Luxury carmaker, BMW launched the 2015 edition of X1 M Sport in India at a price tag of INR 37.9 lakh (ex-showroom Thane). The Bavaria-based automaker launched sDrive20d M Sport version of the X1 with some cosmetic upgrades as well few design changes.
The new X1 gets more stylish look that comes with an aggressive front fascia. On the exterior front, the new X1 M Sport also gets a dual beam projector headlamps, large kidney grille, small round fog lamps sporty front and rear bumpers, 18-inch alloy wheels and high-gloss chrome tailpipe further enhancing its appearance and designing looks. As far as dimensions are concerned, the new X1 M sports measures 4477mm in length, 1798mm in width and 1545mm of length. Moreover, wheelbase of 2760mm and ground clearance of 179mm can easily take of typical Indian terrains.
As far as interiors are concerned, BMW offered new X1 M Sport with a restyled cabin with leather-wrapped M steering wheel, instrument panel with contrasting stitching, BMW Individual headliner in Anthracite and other minor interior add-ons. Moreover, Bluetooth is enabled with hands free as well as USB connectivity for entertainment.
Under the hood, the new BMW X1 M Sport comes paired to a 2.0-litre TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder diesel engine that churns out 186.5 PS of maximum power at 4000 rpm and 380 Nm of peak torque at 1750 - 2750 rpm. It comes mated to an 8-Speed Steptronic Automatic Transmission. As far as the fuel efficiency is concerned, it delivers decent fuel economy of 17.05 kmpl. BMW X1 M Sport has the capability to accelerate from 0 to 100 in merely 7.7secs.
On safety front, the new BMW X1 M Sport comes with 6 Airbags (Front as well as side airbags for driver and front passenger & Head airbags front and rear) and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Brake Assist, Side-impact protection, Cornering Brake Control (CBC), Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) including Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) and rear Park Distance Control (PDC).
Price and Competition
The new BMW X1 M Sport is launched in Indian market at a price of INR 37.90 Lakh and competes with Mercedes GLA and Audi Q3.
