The BMW 3-series with Gran Turismo badged has been in the Indian auto market for three years now. However, the luxury German auto brand introduced the GT series with the 5-series initially. Based on the V3 automobile platform, the BMW 3-series GT emerged as the affordable one in the market. Moreover, the automaker recently unveiled the facelift version of 3-Series GT globally. On the exterior front, the new BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo flaunts the basic layout as well as visual characteristics with subtle additions to the profile such as the new LED headlamp cluster, a restyled front bumper, LED Tail-lamps, a restyled rear bumper and chrome accents as well. On the either sides, the Gran Turismo continues to carry strong character lines whereas the rear profile comes with customary coupe like profile with active aerodynamic design. Moreover, other inclusion in the package is introduction of 17-inch alloy wheels and two new paint shades - Arctic Grey and Jatoba Metalic. The Gran Turismo comes with active rear spoiler that can mechanically extend at a speed of over 110 kmph and pull back with speed of 70 kmph.

As far as the dimension front is concerned, the new 3 Series GT measures 4824mm in length, 1508mm in height and 1828mm in width deriving the luxury sedan as longer by 190mm, taller by 79mm and wider by 17mm as compared to the outgoing model.

On the inside, the new 3 Series Gran Tourismo remains pretty much identical to the previous model with subtle changes such as chrome garnishing, wood furnishing, several colour and trim options. The Gran Turismo offers decent boot space of 520 litres that can be increased to 1600 litres by folding up the rear seats which comes with 40:20:40 split configuration. BMW 3 Series GT Engine Specifications, Mileage and Performance
Under the hood, the 3-series GT is offered in both petrol and diesel derivatives as seen in the outgoing model. Equipped with BMW TwinPower Turbo Technology, the petrol and diesel engines from BMW EfficientDynamics family offers significantly more power along with receptiveness at low engine speeds as well. The 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine can easily develop maximum output of 252 hp against the peak torque of 350 Nm in between 1450 - 4800 rpm. On the other hand, the diesel variant comes with 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel unit that develops peak power of 190 hp along with maximum torque of 400 Nm @ 1750 - 2500 rpm. Both the engines are mated to an 8-speed Steptronic Sport Automatic Transmission. The new BMW 320d GT SportLine and BMW 320d GT Luxury line variants can easily sprint to three figure mark in 7.7 seconds whereas the BMW 330i GT Luxury line variant can sprint to 100 kmph in just 6.1 seconds. As far as the fuel efficiency is concerned, the diesel variant is claimed to return fuel economy of 21.76 kmpl whereas the petrol unit can effortlessly return mileage of 15.34 kmpl.

As far as the price is concerned, the new BMW 3 Series GT SportLine and Luxury line comes with a price tag of INR 43.30 Lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and INR 46.50 Lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) respectively whereas the top of the line - BMW 3-Series GT 330i Gran Turismo Luxury Line is priced at INR 47.50 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
