Yamaha Motor India has launched the FZ25 in India at an impressive price of INR 1.19 lakh. The new bike is aggressive, bolder and more powerful than the previous generation FZ and features a lot under the hood. With this, the Yamaha FZ25 nears the pricing of the Bajaj Dominar 400 that was launched in the country last month. The Bajaj flagship has been priced at INR 1.36 lakh while the fully loaded ABS trim costs INR 1.50 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom, Delhi). Having said that, the new Yamaha FZ25 becomes a worthy pick even for those who are planning for the Bajaj Dominar 400. Here we bring you an insight on which bike is better in what parameters so that you can decide which is the best option for you!
The Yamaha FZ25 draws its power from a 249cc engine mated to a five-speed transmission system. The motor develops a peak power output of 20.6 bhp along with a maximum torque of 20 Nm. On the other hand, the Bajaj Dominar 400 is powered by a 373cc engine that has been sourced straight from the KTM 390 Duke. The engine is linked to a six-speed gearbox that gets a slipper clutch in favour of aggressive downshifts. Respective power and torque figures stand at 34.5 bhp and 35 Nm.
In terms of design, the Bajaj Dominar 400 is based on a power cruiser philosophy while the Yamaha FZ25 is naked streetfighter. The Dominar gets many features such as full digital instrument console with reverse LCD facility while the Yamaha FZ25 gets a similar cockpit as the FZ Version 2.0. Talking of kerb weight, there is also a lot of difference in the weights of the two motorcycles. While the Bajaj Dominar 400 has a total kerb weight of 182 kgs, the Yamaha FZ25 is a lot lighter and weighs 148 kgs. Also, the Bajaj Dominar 400 gets an ABS as an option while the Yamaha FZ25 does not receive the safety equipment at all. Also Read: Yamaha FZ25 launched in India at INR 1.19 lakh
