Yes, finally a test mule of the anticipated Yamaha Fazer 250 has been spied testing somewhere on what seems to be the Noida Greater Noida Expressway. Yamaha Motor India had earlier hinted towards the Fazer 250 in the making but revealed no further information regarding it. The Yamaha Fazer 250 is based on its naked sibling FZ25 and shares most of the components with the latter.
Powering the upcoming Yamaha Fazer 250 is the same 249cc, single cylinder, oil cooled engine that propels the FZ25. The fuel injected motor cranks out a maximum power output of 20.6 bhp along with a peak torque of 20 Nm.
Coming to the body design, the Yamaha Fazer 250, as already said, is inspired from the FZ25. The full fairing up front seems to have taken its inspiration from the Pulsar RS 200. The braking duties will be taken care of with the help of 282mm disc brake up front along with a 220mm disc unit at the rear. The motorcycle has been spied in a matte grey shade and is likely to be one of the options at the time of launch. Also Read: Yamaha FZ25 Road Test Review: Old Wine in New Bottle?
The upcoming Yamaha Fazer 250 is expected to be priced close to INR 1.40 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base variant. While the Yamaha FZ25 misses out on an ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System), it will be interesting to see if the company offers the said safety equipment in the full faired quarter-liter Fazer or not. Expect the bike to make its entry into the Indian two-wheeler market sometime by 2017 end. Also Read: Yamaha FZ25 vs Bajaj Dominar 400 Price: Which one is a better pick and why?
