Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt Ltd has discontinued its two products from the Indian two-wheeler market. The company has removed the SlingShot Plus motorcycle and Swish 125 automatic scooter from its official India website. The sales of these two products were below satisfactory levels since past many months and this is the reason why the company did not upgraded the SlingShot Plus and Swish 125 to BS-IV emission norms and decided to retire them instead from its lineup.
Last year saw the sales of the Access 125 scooter seeing good momentum in the segment while the Swish 125 did not managed to grab that much sales. The sale of this automatic scooter went on to dip continuously and at a point, the company even halted its production in order to give more way to the Access 125 that was already doing fine in the market.
Similarly, the SlingShot Plus did not received enough attention from the masses due to the presence of more capable and visually appealing players in the respective segment. The motorcycle lost its shine in the market in its initial phase only and Suzuki could not do really anything to make the bike climb up the sales chart.
Now, with no 125cc motorcycle present in its product portfolio, Suzuki might be planning to introduce a new 125cc bike in the coming months and take learnings from the failure of the SlingShot Plus. Also Read: Gixxer twins help Suzuki ride towards a whopping 74 percent sales growth in March 2017
