The renowned Japanese auto maker – Honda is reportedly working on a middleweight motorcycle that will challenge the likes of Royal Enfield. The latter is also working on a 750cc parallel twin motorcycle that will be launched in India sometime towards the end of this year. The middleweight motorcycle concept by Honda is currently in the early stages and it will likely take a good amount of time before it finally hits the production lines.
In order to succeed in a market like India, this upcoming Honda middleweight motorcycle will definitely need to have some interesting features in order to stand out from the rest. Also, this bike needs to be technologically supreme and affordable, which is one of the key factors that people keep in mind while buying a motorcycle, here in India.
Regarding this, Mr Noriaki Abe, CEO, Asian Honda Motor Co Ltd said, “We (have) already allocated the people, some from Thailand and some from Japan to India to make a new concept mid-sized motorcycle in India. If we can make that product, we can export that to even Japan.”
As already mentioned, this upcoming Honda bike will take on the likes of the Royal Enfield. A few months back, Royal Enfield had revealed that it is working on two different engine platforms viz 250cc and 750cc and multiple products will be rolled based on these two.
