The world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer Hero MotoCorp has announced that it will be launching six new products in the current financial year i.e. FY2017-18. The company has further revealed that it will be investing INR 2500 crore for new developments. Hero MotoCorp will also be using this money for the upgradation of the machinery at its existing production facilities.
This is what exactly Mr Pawan Munjal, MD and CEO, Hero MotoCorp said, “This will be spent on new product development, digitisation, phase-wise capacity installation and expansion at its existing facility at Gujarat and upcoming plants at Andhra Pradesh & Bangladesh. With half a dozen new launches slated for FY’18, we will go for aggressive market share gains.”
Talking of the product launches that the company has in mind for the current fiscal, the upcoming Xtreme 200S is likely to be the first one that will be launched by the end of this year or early 2018. Besides, there have been reports that Hero MotoCorp will launch a 125cc automatic scooter in September this year and that will be none other than the Dare that was showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo. Other than that, Hero might also launch the 150cc scooter Zir and if this happens, this will be a bold step by the company towards premium scootering in India.
