Bajaj Dominar 400 is one such motorcycle for which the countrymen had been waiting for so long. The Pune-based manufacturer made the two and a half years of wait worth when it finally launched its flagship model at a glittering event in Delhi last month. Reason? The motorcycle was launched at an amazing starting price of INR 1.36 lakh while the fully loaded ABS trim reached to INR 1.5 lakh (both prices, ex-showroom, Delhi).
For those not in the know, Bajaj Dominar 400 is based on the Pulsar CS400 model that was first showcased at the 2014 Auto expo. Bajaj initially decided to bring this motorcycle under the Pulsar umbrella to further boost the popularity of the brand that is going strong in India from the last 15 years. However, as time passed, Bajaj felt the need to bring the Dominar 400 as a completely independent brand to challenge its rivals more confidently.
The motorcycle is indeed important for the manufacturer in a number of ways. Bajaj Auto seems to have thrown everything in the Dominar 400 that was available at its disposal. The motorcycle gets some fancy equipment and its pricing is lower even than the KTM 200 Duke. This brings to light an interesting fact that Bajaj Dominar 400 is affordable than a motorcycle which is almost half its engine displacement.
