Bajaj Auto has recently trademarked the ‘Adventure’ brand in India. This brings in a healthy possibility that the Pune-based might be busy readying the adventure version of its flagship model Dominar 400. Ever since the launch of the Bajaj Dominar 400 in India, there have been speculation that the company is working on the adventure and scrambler versions of this motorcycle. At the launch also, Mr Rajiv Bajaj had hinted that more products will come in the coming years on the same platform as that of the Dominar 400.
Having said that, the upcoming Bajaj adventure bike is likely to come with the same design philosophy to that of the Dominar 400. Also, with the KTM 390 Adventure in the making, it is possible that some parts of the upcoming Bajaj off-roader might be sourced from the former. Hence, expect this new motorcycle to come with a tall windscreen, dual purpose tyres, a raised up front fender and long travel suspension to challenge the terrains with ease.
The upcoming Bajaj Adventure bike will come powered by the same 373cc engine that runs the Dominar 400. The mill in the Dominar develops a maximum power output of 34.5 bhp along with a peak torque of 35 Nm. The adventure version, however might see a change in power and torque figures to serve different purpose. Once launched, the motorcycle will challenge the likes of the Royal Enfield Himalayan primarily in the segment. Also Read: Bajaj Dominar 400 enters Royal Enfield territory with 20 percent share
