2017 KTM Duke 390 – Introduction
The 2017 KTM Duke 390 is undoubtedly the most feature loaded product by the Austrian manufacturer for India till date in the respective price segment. This bike is the heavily updated model of the immensely popular 390 Duke Streetfighter which has been on sale in the Indian two-wheeler market since the year 2013. The 2017 model brings a heavy upgrade in terms of features which are best even in some segments above it along with the aggressive design philosophy.
2017 KTM Duke 390 – Engine specifications
The 2017 KTM Duke 390 draws its power from the same 373cc engine that does duty on the outgoing model. The fuel injected motor is Euro-IV compliant, which makes it automatically meet BS-IV emission standards. The engine in the new KTM 390 Duke produces a maximum power output of 44 bhp along with a peak torque of 37 Nm which is a jump up from 35 Nm in the earlier model. Power is sent to the rear wheel via a six-speed transmission, which also gets a slipper clutch.
2017 KTM Duke 390 – Chassis and Equipment
The new Duke 390 is bolted on a tubular space frame. The bike has been fitted with inverted forks up front while the rear has been assisted with a mono shock absorber. The stopping power is delivered with the help of 320mm disc brake at the front that couples to a 230mm disc brake at the rear, both come linked to a dual channel Bosch ABS. This bike runs on 110/70 upfront and 150/60 rear tyres that come mounted over stylish alloy wheels.

One of the most prime highlights of the 2017 KTM Duke 390 is the full LED split type headlamp with LED DRLs at the front. This bike has also been bestowed with full digital TFT instrumentation that supports smartphone integration facility, thanks to the KTM Myride app. The new KTM 390 Duke also gets bigger brakes for an enhanced stopping power.
2017 KTM Duke 390 – Dimensions
The 2017 KTM Duke 390 has a wheelbase of 1357mm. This bike has a ground clearance of 185mm. Besides, the new 2017 KTM Duke 390 has been fitted with a bigger fuel tank than the current model and the new appetite can store 13.4 litre of fuel. The seat of the new Duke 390 has been fitted at a height of 830mm.
2017 KTM Duke 390 – Price
The 2017 model of the KTM Duke 390, with its added features has been launched at a price of INR 2.25 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) which is a premium of almost INR 30,000 over the previous model.
