Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) had earlier announced that it will launch four products in the current fiscal. Out of these, the Africa Twin made its way to the Indian two-wheeler market yesterday. Now, a report at Rushlane reveals the patent images of the upcoming 2017 Honda Unicorn facelift. The bike is likely to be launched in India sometime by the end of the current calendar year.
The Honda Unicorn was discontinued by the company earlier but its high demand made the company reintroduce it at the 2016 Auto Expo. Now with its popularity on a constant high, Honda must have felt the need to bring a new and improved version of the Unicorn 150.
As seen in the patent images, the design language of the upcoming 2017 Honda Unicorn looks sharp and aggressive than the existing model. The fuel tank gets tank extensions that indeed look sporty and enhances the overall appearance of this bike. At the rear, the new Unicorn receives split body grab rails. The patent image further reveals that the upcoming new Honda Unicorn facelift will come with a drum brake. However, we believe that the company will offer a disc brake up front at least as an option.
Powering the current Honda CB Unicorn is a 149cc, single cylinder, air-cooled engine that comes mated to a five-speed gearbox, churning out 13.3 PS of power and 12.8 Nm of torque. The upcoming model is likely to get the same mill as the present model. Also Read: Honda led automatic scooter segment to overtake 110cc motorcycle category soon
