Audi India has finally launched the latest edition of SUV flagship – Audi Q7 Premium Plus at INR 72 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and Q7 Technology at INR 77.5 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) in Indian market. The new gen Audi Q7 SUV has received considerable cosmetic changes as well as mechanical modifications compared to the preceding model.
Based on Audi’s new design Philosophy, the new Audi Q7 gets much sleeker design along with curvy appearance and aggressive stance. The front fascia of the new Audi Q7 SUV gets a refreshed hexagonal single frame chrome grille along with newly designed headlamps that are available in 3-options – xenon, LEDs and matrix LED lamps, new arrow shaped DRLs incorporated with turn signals and tweaked body coloured bumpers. The rear profile continues to feature sharp theme in-line design along with new tail lamps and flattered exhaust.
The key underscore of the new SUV is its massive weight reduction, as the new gen Audi Q7 is 325kg lighter than the previous model because of extensive usage of light weight, high-strength steel and aluminium. Thus, making the new SUV more agile and performance oriented. Moreover, the SUV is 37mm shorter and 15mm narrower as compared to its previous model. But Audi has managed to increase space in between first and second row by 21mm. The new Audi Q7 SUV comes with boot space of 295 litres that can be increased by tumbling up the third row seats to 890 litres.
Inside the cabin, the new gen Audi Q7 also gets some cosmetic changes such as redesigned upholstery and premium trim option which adds an elegant factor to the cockpit. The new Audi Q7 SUV also bags a new advanced infotainment system that comes along with Audi's MMI touch control unit that features a large 8.3-inch touchpad with handwriting recognition that makes operation pretty easy. Some added features of this new Audi Q7 includes Audi connect, the Audi tablet for rear seat passengers, 2 sound systems along with 3D audio as well as Smartphone integration for Google Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and so on.
Engine specifications and Performance
Under the hood, the new-gen Audi Q7 SUV is powered by a 3.0-litre, V6 diesel engine capable of producing maximum power of 270bhp and peak torque of 601Nm that comes coupled with a 8-speed automatic transmission gearbox along with Quattro all-wheel-drive technology. Moreover, the new Audi Q7 can easily sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in just 6.3 seconds to reach out for the its top speed of 230kmph.
Price and Competition
As for the pricing, the newly launched Audi Q7 is priced in the range of INR 72 lakh – INR 77.5 lakh and it locks horns with its rivals such as BMW X5, Volvo XC90 and Mercedes Benz GL Class in the very same segment.
