Aston Martin is an epitome of British engineering and asserts its dominance easily. It is a Grand Tourer (GT) coupe which was unveiled at the 86th Geneva Motor Show earlier this year and left jaws dropped all over with its exquisitely crafted design. This model is the first one based on Aston Martin’s ‘Second Century’ plan and aims to leave all the competitors in the dust. The designs of several Aston Martin cars have been deemed iconic thanks to their attachment with the fictional character of James Bond who drove the DB2/4, DB5 and, most recently, the DB10.
Aston Martin DB11 Exteriors
The exterior design is aesthetically pleasing as it is a typical Aston Martin with a front-hinging clamshell bonnet, distinctively large LED headlights and highlighted front grill that is reminiscent of their previous models. The airflow management has been given a lot of importance to properly manage airflow and provide best possible aerodynamics. The large air dam below the grill runs the whole length of the front which further helps in air flow to the powerful engine. The front of the car has been reduced in height by the wheel arches which are reminiscent of fish gills and aid in absorbing the high pressure air hovering around the wheel arches.
The side profile has bulging lines and streamlined air vents over the wheel arches. Air is ducted through this bodywork, before venting out as a jet of air from an opening in the rear decklid. The derriere of the tourer has a reduced height because of the Aston Martin Aeroblade technology which are the hidden air intakes located at the bottom of the C-pillars. The boldly sculpted tail-lights look futuristic and create a new and unmistakable graphic.
